I. Consent to the processing and disclosure of personal data for purposes of information transfer and staging of the event or for advertising and additional services

I agree that Messe Berlin GmbH may store and process my personal data and disclose them to the agency abroad that is competent in my country and to the group and partner companies and, if applicable, sponsors named at Section 5.3 of II. Data protection regulations / duties to provide information, also for the purpose of them offering me their own additional services. I may at any time revoke with future effect this consent to the use of my personal data and e-mail address requested in the context of the registration for ITB Culture Courses. To do this, it will be sufficient to send an e-mail message to datenschutz@messe-berlin.de.

II. Data protection regulations / duties to provide

Data protection has high priority at Messe Berlin GmbH. Therefore, the security of your personal data that you have sent us with your registration for ITB Culture Courses is a matter of principal concern to us. Using the necessary technical and organisational measures, we ensure that your data will be used within the scope of the legal regulations and exclusively for the contractually agreed purposes, and within the scope of your consent.

The following principles apply in this respect:

Messe Berlin GmbH is the controller responsible for the storage and processing of the data and the service provider. Please see our legal notice for more detailed information and possible ways to contact us. 2. Purposes of use

We acquire, use and process your personal data to organise, process and handle your participation in ITB Culture Courses event which will be online 26.02.-31.10.18 and for our internal market research. This includes the name of the participant, the company name, e-mail address, country, job title, branch of the company, and in which ITB trade show you are participating.

The personal data provided in your registration for the ITB Culture Courses enables you to use the booked cultural course package within the booked time period.

Moreover, we point out that we may access your account to provide better technical support in case you have problems with the digital platform, in order to support you with its handling and provide specific assistance.

In addition, we would like to note that we continuously watch the participants' registration, progression and completion process to be able to intervene and send reminders, if necessary.

After the time period of the booked cultural course package, your personal data, such as country, branch, company, will be evaluated for internal purposes to draw conclusions as to the success of courses and to continuously improve the course offer.

Should you, in addition to this, have given us your express consent, we will use your data to send you advertising information in connection with your participation, also by our partner companies, data processors and, if applicable, sponsors of the event that we will name you on request.

3. Kind of the personal data

They include the name of the participant, the company name, e-mail address, country, job title, branch of the company, and in which ITB trade show you are participating.

4. Your rights

You can exercise the following rights of the data subject: The right to information, erasure and correction of your personal data and the right to have processing restricted.

Should you revoke your consent to the use of your personal data provided in your application for ITB Culture Courses, your participation in Culture Courses will be forfeited because these data are required to use the digital platform. Upon your notification, Messe Berlin GmbH will immediately delete your personal data and your profile in the area of ITB Culture Courses.

Should you believe that the processing of the data violates data privacy laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

The consent to the disclosure of your personal data for the purpose of advertising by sponsors of ITB Culture Courses can be revoked at any time with future effect without stating reasons. Please be aware that your data might still be used while your revocation is being processed.

The revocation of your consent to the disclosure for advertising purposes has no effect on your booked ITB Culture Course.

5. Legal basis of the processing of the personal data at Messe Berlin GmbH

The legal basis of the processing of the personal data is the performance of the contractual relationship with Messe Berlin GmbH (Section 28 (1) BDSG [German Federal Data Protection Act]/ Art. 6 (1) Letter b GDPR).

5.1 Recipients to which the data may be disclosed without consent

To be able to guarantee your usage of the online culture course, we transfer part of your data to group companies of Messe Berlin GmbH and partner companies that process the personal data on our behalf. The basic services include, e.g., reading articles, watching videos and doing the booked elearnings.

5.2 Legal basis of the disclosure of your data for advertising purposes

The legal basis is your declaration of consent. If you have given us your consent to the disclosure of your data for advertising purposes, we may transfer your data to our subsidiaries and partner companies and, if applicable, sponsors of the event named at Section 5.3.

6. Transfer of data to foreign countries

Personal data will be transferred to partner companies in third countries only if a level of data protection is given or guaranteed in such a country that is equivalent to the regulatory framework existing in the European Union (EU)/ the European Economic Area (EEA).

7. Duration of storage

As a rule, we will delete your data at the end of, and after we have finally settled your participation in ITB Culture Courses. Legal regulations, in particular with respect to data required for billing and bookkeeping purposes, may prevent deletion. In such a case, the data will be deleted at the earliest possible point in time.

8. Notification in case of a change

Messe Berlin GmbH reserves the right to alter the data protection regulations at any time, taking account of the applicable data protection laws. The data protection regulations take effect at the time of your registration for ITB Culture Courses.

Messe Berlin GmbH will point out any changes to the Data Privacy Policy and communicate them through various media (website and newsletter).
